 <note>Oil palm is a tropical tree mainly grown for the production of palm oil.&#13;
Palm oil is an edible oil extracted from the mesocarp of the oil palms fruit of&#13;
African oil palm Elaeis guineensis Jacq. Besides edible usage, palm oil also possesses&#13;
suitable materials for non-edible properties used in soap making, candles,&#13;
cosmetic products and in rubber processing. This crop is a highly valuable and&#13;
proﬁtable crop as even its waste materials can be utilized. An attractive approach in&#13;
utilizing oil palm wastes in the production of eco-friendly biofuel has increase the&#13;
value of oil palm crop, hence, making this crop more efﬁcient than other oil crops.&#13;
Currently, oil palm has become the world’s leading vegetable oil crop. The total&#13;
land area for oil palm cultivation has increased over the years, where most of the&#13;
cultivated area are in South East Asia countries.</note>
