This monograph on "Oil Palm Genetic Resources" highlights the importance of genepool as raw materials to produce improved planting materials with various attribytes essential to oil palm breeding. Three experienced researchers in the field of oil palm breeding compiled MPOB R&D efforts in oil palm genetic resources spanning over 50 years. It is also apparent that oil palm genetic diversity is essential for gene discovery and understanding at the molecular level.
