This book provides an overview of oil palm cultivation and nutrient management to obtain high and sustainable yields. Emphasis is given on the nutritional aspects, which include crop nutrient requirements, mineral fertilizer (such as N, P and K) application and nutrient uptake. Topics covered include the role of nutrition in disease control and utilization of field residues and mill by-products as sources of nutrients or energy for milling processes. A conceptual framework for precision agriculture in oil palm plantations is also given.
